Uniqueness
SDMX artefacts may be widely used across organisations, but they need to be maintained in a consistent manner to avoid "deviating duplicates".
Discover SDMX web services and their features
With the increasing deployment and utilization of SDMX registries and services in production environments, the significance of discovering and sharing SDMX artefacts and data has surged immensely.
While the global registry plays a pivotal role in this ecosystem by maintaining core artefacts, such as top-level agency schemes, both international and national registries, along with data SDMX services, are integral components of this landscape.
The key to harnessing the full potential of these resources lies in effective discovery mechanisms. These mechanisms enable consumers to access and utilize the wealth of data and metadata offered by SDMX, thereby enriching their analytical capabilities and insights.
SDMX artefacts may be widely used across organisations, but they need to be maintained in a consistent manner to avoid "deviating duplicates".
Registries must be able to synchronise in order to serve an up-to-date instance of SDMX artefacts.
Discovering new artefacts, or finding systematically the source registry of an artefact becomes more important with more registries in the SDMX community.
Users should not need to navigate to different registries to discover artefacts. Registries should offer this.
Any SDMX artefact must be maintained in one public registry (via the SDMX REST API).
All artefacts of an agency ID must be published in one public registry/service.
SDMX artefacts must be maintained only in the global registry. All top-level agency IDs must be maintained in the global registry.
Registries may store SDMX artefacts of other agency IDs but must not allow editing of those artefacts.
